With such a long history there have been many memorable moments and fortunately many of these have been captured on film. More recently professional photographers have been able to provide the opportunity for competitors to take away more than just tired legs after the event. The gallery section shows a selection of the photographs taken through the years. In some instances the names of those featured are not recorded, but if you have this information and would like a comment added to the photograph please contact us to arrange. Take a look through the albums, which give a flavour of the event (although there are a surprisingly high number of smiling faces for a challenge that is so demanding!).
